i have a maltese that is 14 months now and still scratches when he goes to his crate at night for bedtime. He also tends to soil and wet his bed more often than not and doesnt seem to care that he is soiling his own bed of a night. he has been able to hold on all night on rare occasions but he doesnt repeat this very often. i think at his age he should have better bladder control at night. he has been checked at the vet and there is no problem medically. is he just lazy, and why doesnt he like his crate? even during the day he will scratch after about 5 minutes in it.
